This year, Tuesday, February 13th, is Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday. As has been the tradition in the past here at St. Matthew School, several parent volunteers, under the leadership of Mrs. MacDonald,  will be coming to the school on the morning of February 13th to cook a wonderful pancake breakfast for the students and staff of St. Matthew School. Breakfast will be served in the gymnasium.  There will be two sittings for breakfast:

9:15-10:00 a.m.–JK-Grade 3/4

10:45-11:30 a.m.–Grades 4/5-8

To help celebrate the occasion and join in the spirit of the day, students are invited to wear pink, red and white in honour of Valentine’s Day.

Students, please bring your own water bottles!

Entertainment will be provided.

**It is important to remember that ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR LUNCH as usual that day.

Special thanks to the following three local businesses for helping to sponsor our Pancake Day celebration at St. Matthew School:

  • Cora Unionville
  • Cora Markham
  • The Village Grocer

We thank our parents in advance for their generosity and kindness in taking the time to prepare this  great cultural and religious pre-Lent celebration celebration for our staff and students!
